Tentspace delivers high-performance inflatable structures for ANAVON Ski’s extreme alpine brand activations in Switzerland.

ANAVON Ski AG: When Your Brand Has to Compete with the Alps

At 1,800 meters in Graubünden, the wind doesn't negotiate.

ANAVON Ski AG knows this better than most. The Swiss ski manufacturer — founded in 2018 by Urs Wullschleger, Kurt Schär, and Mauro Lardi — handcrafts fully personalized skis in the heart of the Alps. The name itself is Romansh for "Forward!", and that's how they run their business: precise, stubborn about quality, and entirely Swiss-made.

But when ANAVON planned outdoor brand activations at ski events across Graubünden, they ran into a problem that had nothing to do with skis.

Standard event setups don't survive the mountain.

Pop-up canopies flap themselves apart. Vinyl banners crack in the cold. Frame tents take an hour to assemble — longer when your crew is wearing ski gloves on compacted snow. ANAVON needed branded structures that matched their product standard: visually precise, mechanically tough, and fast to deploy in conditions that wreck most event equipment.

They reached out to Tentspace.

The Brief: Look Like a Premium Brand, Survive Like a Mountain Shelter

What ANAVON asked for was simple to describe and hard to execute.

They needed a custom inflatable tent and branded inflatable arch for use at ski races, product showcases, and brand activations — all in alpine winter conditions. The top choice was our best-selling 5x5 X-type tent.

The spec sheet, stripped to essentials:

  • Color fidelity. ANAVON's brand identity is minimal, modern, Swiss-clean. Every Pantone value across every printed surface had to be exact. Not close. Exact. On fabric, in subzero daylight, at altitude where UV exposure is 30% stronger than sea level.
  • Wind and cold. Winter in the Swiss Alps means sustained winds above 50 km/h and temperatures routinely hitting -15°C. The structures had to hold shape and pressure through an entire event day — no babysitting, no re-inflation.
  • Two-person setup on snow. ANAVON runs lean event teams. No four-person assembly crews. No toolkits. Two people, on snow, done in minutes.

What Tentspace Built

We designed a custom inflatable fleet around ANAVON's specific use case: short-burst, high-visibility brand activations in environments where most event hardware fails.

Sealed air-beam construction. Every Tentspace inflatable structure uses sealed air chambers — inflate once, disconnect the pump, and the structure holds rigid for 48 to 72 hours without continuous airflow. No blower noise. No power cables. No generator dependency. For a mountaintop event with limited infrastructure, this isn't a luxury. It's the only architecture that makes sense.

Material choice: 0.55mm PVC tarpaulin. This is our standard for winter and high-altitude applications. At this thickness, the material stays flexible down to -20°C without cracking or delaminating at the seams. We heat-weld every seam — not glue. Glued seams fail in repeated freeze-thaw cycles. We learned this the hard way years ago, and we stopped offering glued construction for winter-rated products entirely.

Dye-sublimation print. ANAVON's branding is printed using dye-sublimation — the pigment is embedded into the fabric fiber, not layered on top. It won't peel, crack, or fade in UV or cold. Every panel was printed to ANAVON's exact Pantone specs and proofed before production. For a brand built on the idea of personal handwriting and precision craftsmanship, anything less would have been a mismatch.

Setup on Snow: What Actually Happens at 1,800m

Here's a thing most event tent suppliers don't tell you: setting up on snow is a different discipline than setting up on grass or concrete.

Standard ground stakes don't grip compacted snow. You need snow anchors — wider plates that distribute load across a larger surface. We include these in every winter kit, but the technique matters as much as the hardware. Stake the base points before inflating. Positioning an inflated structure on snow is a fight you'll lose — the surface is slippery, the wind catches the profile, and you end up with two people trying to wrestle a sail.

The ANAVON deployment followed our standard alpine protocol: unpack, lay flat, anchor base points, then inflate. The full setup — tent and arch — went from carry bags to branded and standing in under fifteen minutes. Two people, no tools beyond the hand pump.

Not glamorous. But it works, and it works every time.

Why This Matters Beyond ANAVON

Frame tents have their place. High-altitude winter events aren't one of them.

Metal-frame structures at altitude create three problems: they take 45-60 minutes to assemble (double that in gloves and wind), the metal joints frost over and seize, and the frames conduct cold into the interior, making the tent actively uncomfortable. Add snow-covered ground into the equation and you're looking at a setup experience that discourages your team from ever wanting to run another outdoor event.

Sealed inflatables solve all three. Air is a natural insulator — the interior stays noticeably warmer. The structures pack into bags that fit in a car trunk. And there are no metal joints to freeze, corrode, or require tools.

For brands like ANAVON — running multiple activations across a ski season with small, fast-moving teams — the logistics savings alone justify the switch. But the real win is simpler: your brand looks intentional, not improvised.

ANAVON's tagline is "YOUR SKI. YOUR HANDWRITING." Every product they make is personalized to the individual. The inflatable structures Tentspace built for them follow the same idea — designed to their brand, engineered for their environment, built to perform where it matters most.
